The “Shanghai International Creative Industries Week”, Creative Week for short, is an internationally recognized platform that promotoes Creative Industries,the exchanging of ideas and the communication of new concepts. The Creative Week is organized by the Shanghai Creative Industry Centre and is supported by the Shanghai municipal government as well as by the Jing'an district government. Since 2005, the Creative Week has attracted more than 400,000 visitors, of whom more than 60% are special visitors, representatives of the government and VIPs. During this one week event, exhibitors from more than 30 countries will take part.



Creative Week 2009

The special feature for the Creative Week 2009 is that it is part of the official EXPO 2010 support program. Several exhibitions and events that are busy with the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai and consider this a unique opportunity for presentation and getting in touch. Furthermore, Shanghai’s application at the UN for membership of the Creative Cities Network was reflected by much media-attention, which shows the growing importance of Creative Industries in China as a serious economic factor.



The location: 800 Show

The Creative Week 2009 will take place in downtown Shanghai for the first time near the well-known Jing'an Temple and the famous shopping street Nanjing Road. It will take place at 800 Show Creative Park, a former electrical machinery plant that was renovated in 2008-2009. The ensemble consists of 14 different buildings with a total area of 20.000 sqm. and a 120 m. long event hall.
